Two special events were hosted at Hellas House on Thursday 17 May for boosting Greek Tourism and the links between the two countries, Greece and China.<\/p>\n

In the morning, a press conference was co-organised with the Greek Ministry of Tourism where Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura presented to more than 30 prominent chinese journalists Greece as a 365 days a year tourist destination, referred to plans to boost the arrival of Chinese visitors and attract new tourist flows to Greece in current and coming years.<\/p>\n

Greek Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura accompanied by Ambassador of Greece to China Leonidas Rokanas and the Consul General of Greece in Shanghai Vassilis Xiros.<\/p>\n

Presented the investment opportunities that Greece offers as an attractive international destination\u00a0and she also highlighted the actions made for the\u00a0quicker issuance of visas for Chinese travelers\u00a0on behalf of the country\u2019s consular authorities in China.<\/p>\n

In the afternoon of same day, Hellas House represented by Founder & CEO Mr. Kontomichalos, Athens International Airport represented by Director of Communications Mrs. Papadopoulou Ioanna and the\u00a0Ministry of Tourism organised an event with the major China airlines. The aim of the event was for all parties to explore the possibilities and the need of the market for the launch of a new direct flight between Shanghai and Athens.\u00a0During the event, Greece was introduced as an attractive destination to the Chinese market, the\u00a0successful example of the Beijing – Athens route was presented while Athens International Airport presented\u00a0benefits to facilitate both Chinese travelers in Athens and Chinese airline carriers for\u00a0introducing a new direct route to Athens Int. Airport.<\/p>\n
